Next meeting 2004 sometime???

Update Nov 22nd, 2004.

Hello from Agent Anime, the little anime club that could, (I think I can, I think I can, heh heh, yeah). I wanted to pass some important news on to everyone. Agent Anime will be back in action very soon. But also very different then what you may know us to be. We have been working hard and taking in input from fans as to what they want from an anime club such as Agent Anime. We have always strived to be different then other clubs, not for the sake of being better then the other clubs (because all the other StL anime clubs are great, not to mention friends of mine) but for the sake of variety for the fans. We haven't really ever been a real CLUB so to speak but more like a local event. And that's what we are going to continue to be. Agent Anime is coming back and this time, we've got bombs!

Look for our next event to take place real soon. And don't worry I'll try to give plenty of warning so that you can make arrangements, (hopefully).

Also if you have changed your email address or contact info, please let us know so that we can get that updated and keep you informed of all the great events coming up.

Also, all of us at Agent Anime wish everyone a very happy and safe holiday season. Be careful out there. -Animehead.

Update Oct 4th, 2004.

Hello everyone. I do apologize for the lack of meetings as of late. I am currently in the works of revamping the Agent Anime Club and coming up with more A/V production projects.

Just a few announcements:

SugoiCon is coming up Nov 19-21, in Covington, Kentucky (Cincinnati, basically. just across the bay). Anyway you can find out more info about it at www.sugoicon.com . I plan on hopefully attending.

Also: Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence Starts Friday, October 15 at the Tivoli Theatre, check out this Landmark Theatre Link for more info. I'm definitely goin to see it. Check here for the official site

And also if you weren't there like I wasn't then you missed both Royal Fest (Sep 25-26) and Archon (Sep 30-Oct 3). I bet they were pretty cool cons even though I haven't heard any reviews about them yet. If you got out there great, if not better luck next year. I hopefully will be able to make it also.

Well that's about all for now, as usual check out and support the other local clubs. And hopefully we'll be back up and running soon. -Animehead.

Update Aug 10th, 2004.

Hello everyone again. As stated before updates are few and far between. Been busy busy busy lately.  ShowMeCon was really cool, I had a good time losing lots of sleep and watching anime non-stop for like 49 hours straight.

I'd like to take a second to thank all the anime room staff that helped out over the con weekend.   Eric Wolf, thanks for the help dude. Rich Smith who drove all the way from Kentucky to assist, thanks it was fun hangin out, can't wait for SugoiCon in Cincinnati, I'll see you there. Brian Lan (from the Fant-Asia club) thanks for helping haul the stuff to the car and for all the other stuff. That kid Marty, thanks for hanging out and assisting, even though you're not in the club yet, (you should be soon), and your parents were pretty cool too. And last but not least all the SMC con staff for having us and letting us pretty much do whatever the heck we wanted to. It was fun I'm looking forward to next year.

www.showmecon.com for all the detail.

Now for some more club related info. You'll notice at the top of this page it says next meeting 2004 sometime. Well we're still looking for a better meeting place / location. SO if anyone has any ideas, please let me know ASAP. Also the next convention that we're involved with is going to be Royal Fest, (  www.royalfest.com ) Its a comic con that's coming real soon to the Collinsville convention center. We're gonna be there showin anime stuff and representing the St. Louis anime scene. So you all should hurry up and register for it and we'll see you there.

That's about all for now, so remember that anime is not just for breakfast anymore. -Animehead

Update July 8th, 2004.

Hello everyone. Long time since last update. Geesh, these updates are getting further and further apart these days. Being busy really does hinder the club. Anyway as you all may know by now there was no June meeting. We are still in the process of finding a bigger better place to congregate. But until then we'll just keep trying to get by.
Some things to first and foremost get out of the way. Showmecon, is coming up fast, only a few weeks away. The con will be July 30-Aug 1st, at the airport Hilton Hotel.
Once again if anyone wants to volunteer to help run the 24hour video room please let me know ASAP. We sure could use the help.
In other news for those of you that don't know yet. There is an anime store now open in the newer St. Louis Mills Mall in Hazelwood. It's called An-Imagination. It's not really an all out "Anime" store. They have some gaming supplies and some other things that I really didn't pay attention to. They also have a bunch of anime merch like wallscrolls, figures, posters, some DVD's and OST's and such. I have heard that it was opened up about 2 months ago by the people that own the Wizards Wagon comic shop out there past St. Charles in O'Fallon. All in all it's probably worth a visit for those that haven't been there yet. It's not the best anime store I've seen but definitely worth a look considering it's the only place like it around. Well unless you count the local comic shops, which some of which might have more anime merch then AnImagination.
Also in other news, go check out the Fant-Asia St. Louis
Seventh Anniversary,  Saturday, July 17, 2004. it starts at 11AM (is that right Brian?*) and is at the St.Charles Fantasy Shop on First Capitol (is that right too, Bri?*). Anyway it's always a good time with lots of events to participate in, so be there.
Let's me see,,, what else has been going on.......
OH YEAH!!! SHOWMECON is coming!!! SO GET THOSE REGISTRATIONS IN!!!

also if you are in need of a place to crash, eat, watch anime (besides the video room), or just chill, in between shifts running the video room. I have a room reserved for that purpose. Just let me know you'll be using it and we'll get it all worked out. Thanks- Animehead

Update May 23rd, 2004.

First off, I have to say. Anime Central was a great time. Even though I ended up working for Anime Pavilion for all of Saturday. But that was even a good time. Steve Lin (owner of Anime Pavilion, and a good friend of mine) let me help out in his dealers booth. I thank him for allowing me to help out. I just wish I could have helped out more, but I had to leave early on Sunday. The convention was well run this year, it seemed more organized then usual, but I guess you just get better with the more practice you get. The one downfall I could see, is the pre-registration. It almost doesn't pay to even pre-register. I saved allot of time by not pre-registering. The lines were long and took forever to get your pass, I had heard. And if you didn't get to the registration in time the first day, the staff would not allow you to go into any viewing rooms, even if you had your pre-reg e-mail receipt. You paid for a 3 day pass when you pre-registered, but yet you couldn't even attend any of the events. I think you should at least get a refund of one day at least. So I think that is something they should work on. But all in all it was fun.

As far as the club is concerned. I do apologize for the meeting cancellations that have taken place in the past few months. This I believe has been the reason for our steady decrease in numbers of members that show up to the meetings. I have canceled meetings and then moved them to later days with little to no warning, or time for members to make arrangements to attend. This has hurt the club and I realize that. So I do apologize. Hopefully in the future I can make arrangements so that the club will have a set schedule and meeting place. And there will be little to no confusion and in this hopefully the numbers will come back up. This club needs it's members and anime fans to survive. And I more then anything want it to continue to please and satisfy it's members and all fans of anime.

So in saying all this I hope to see you at the next meeting, after I decide when it will be. Sometime in Jun I hope, there is alot of projects coming up so I have to really work on a schedule. I'll send another update as soon as I know when the next meeting will be. It may even have to be on a week night during the evening. Let me know if this sounds like a good idea.

If anyone has any suggestions, (meeting places, times, showings, projects) please let me know.

Also as a reminder hurry up and sign up for ShowMeCon 2004, July 30th to Aug 1st. We're having a 24 hour, 3 day anime video room, with raffles and prizes to be won.

And as of just recently we will also be running another anime video room at the Royal Fest Comic Convention September 25th and 26th. This con will be held at the Collinsville Convention Center, Collinsville Illinois.

And in other news. I had just heard that the Fant-Asia anime club will be starting back up at the Afton Branch Fantasy Shop.

Well thats about it for this update see you soon. -Animehead

Update Apr 6th, 2004.

The next meeting was supposed to to be on the 10th of April but it has been moved up to a few weeks because of some technical difficulties. The meeting will now be on Saturday, May 1st. The same location, and also we will be finalizing the plans for the Anime Central con in Chicago at this meeting. So if you were planning on going with us to the con you must come to this meeting.

In other news the Afton Fantasy Shop branch of the Fant-Asia St. Louis Anime Club is on hiatus for awhile. So any Fant-Asia members of that branch looking for some anime are welcome to attend our Agent Anime Club meetings until you all can find a new location. We at Agent Anime are always be here to show our support to the Anime Cause.  -Animehead

Update Mar 24th, 2004.

The next meeting will be Saturday April 10th, from 3PM to 8PM. Bring snacks or beverages of choice. We're gonna try to something different. We'll try to do somekind of marathon of some sort. Send me some votes as to what series or movies we should play. -Animehead

Update Mar 4th, 2004.

Ohh, I almost forgot! The Agent Anime 2 year anniversary is April 13th. So the upcoming meeting / BBQ will also be in celebration of that. So you all have to come now! I figured we'd go ahead and celebrate that too since we were having a BBQ and all, it would be the perfect time to do so. Also since it is a BBQ, feel free to bring some type of food or drink item. Thanks -Animehead

Update Mar 1st, 2004.

Greetings anime fans!
It's been awhile but things are starting to heat up for Agent Anime. There are allot of things in store coming real soon. But first things first. I need a show of hands of how many people are interested in partaking in the Agent Anime Annual Anime Central Caravan up to the Windy City. Yep that's right we've done it before and we're gonna do it again! All in favor say Aye!!! Send me an email confirmation as soon as you know if you would like to and will be able to attend our road trip. That way I can get the right amount of rooms and transportation reserved. I need that info A.S.A.P. Thanks
Next off, We're cookin up something good for this next meeting. We're starting a Agent Anime Spring Break Special (BBQ). Saturday March 13th. The location is at the same location as the Christmas Party. I've been workin hard at getting my backyard patio and basement of my house set up for guests and future club meetings. It's just about there. We'll have more room then we'll ever need to accommodate many members. It should be cooler then ever and about time too. More details will be available at the time of the meeting about the Anime Central and other cons coming up. Especially ShowMeCon. Anyway get those confirmations sent in to me and I'll be back with more details soon. And as always any questions feel free to call or e-mail them to me.  animehead@agentanime.com. -Animehead

Update Jan 8th, 2004.

Important Message! ! !

Well this clubs schedule is becoming more and more unpredictable by the moment. Unfortunately there will be another change to the club schedule due to some work related issues. I am having to go on a business trip Friday Jan 30th. So in addition to the military trip I have to go on, I also am needed to go on an important business trip at the end of the month. So the clubs meeting will not be on the night of the 30th as mentioned earlier (see below in the Jan 4th update). I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause in getting your monthly anime fix.

But do not worry anime fans. There will be a meeting, just unfortunately not this month. I will release the date for next month as soon as I get a better scheduling system together.  As always if anyone has any ideas, complaints, or any anime related info please feel free to contact me. Once again all apologies for this inconvenience. -Animehead

Update Jan 4th, 2004.

Happy New Year Once again. This is our clubs second new years. It seems just like yesterday when I started Agent Anime. Well it's been almost 2 years now. And I hope we can make it another 2 and even more. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and a great holiday season. Unfortunately I spent most of the time in bed sick, well just a few days of it anyway. The rest was fine and full of gifts and family and friends. That's what makes the holidays special. Just chillin out and havin some fun. I spent a good portion of my winter break playin Tony Hawks Underground with my 13 year old nephew. It was cool. I hope everyone else's was too.  The Agent Anime X-mas party was fun, I can't wait for next years. It was a little more relaxed then last years party, but it was cool none the less. And all you people that said you were gonna come and didn't, you missed out. I better see you at the next meeting, heheheheh, I got somethin for ya.

Anyway as far as what's in store for the next year for the Agent Anime Club. We'll just have too see. There's alot of things coming up. The second year anniversary, ACen, ShowMeCon, and what else. I don't know, there's 2 much to think about right now.

Anyway I also wanted to let everyone know that the January meeting will not be on the 3rd Saturday of the month. I have some more military stuff to do during that week. So instead it will be on Friday Night Jan 30th. The place is at my new house, the same location as the Christmas Party for those of you who were there. For those that weren't here's some [ Directions ].  The meeting will start at 6:30PM and go till about 12 or so. Snacks are definitely allowed, and there's plenty of room. So bring some snacks and come watch some anime. If this nightly meeting schedule works out better for everyone then we may permanently switch the meetings to this location. The library is a great meeting place but it has just too many restrictions when it comes to snacks and stuff. Anyway that's about all the updates for now. I hope everyone sticks to their resolutions and has a safe 2004. -Animehead
