UPDATES
Updates will be as follows so keep checking here for all the latest info.
The next meeting/X-mas party will be on Dec 20th, see you there!
Update Dec 7th, 2003.
The Christmas Party will officially be on Saturday December 20th from 2:00PM to 12midnight. The plans are set and the news is out. If you need some directions to the location I have posted links here and on the projects page. The party is at my new house. It should be set up rather nicely for all kinds of anime viewing, food eating, game playing, and other things as well. I'm going to try to make this party more interactive then last year. We might try to have some kind of other events like games, drawing, and contests. We'll see how that goes. But anyway it's sure to be just as good as last year, if not better.
Also if anyone would like to bring a dish of there favorite snack or party food that would be great. So far I will be providing a nacho bar, some little smokies, and some soda's for our snacking pleasure. So please help out and bring some kind of food dish along if at all possible, even if it's a bag of chips or some sodas. We'd all appreciate it. It's gonna be a good time.
On another note due to some technical difficulties, some e-mail addresses may have been dropped from the mailing list. The webhost e-mail server was under some maintenance and may have caused some e-mail addresses to be knocked off our list. If this is the case and you were wondering why you haven't been getting any e-mail updates. You can resubmit to me your e-mail address and I can put you back on the list. Sorry for any inconvenience and in the future we will try to handle these problems more efficiently. Send your address to matt@agentanime.com , and just in case CC: it also to my webmail address so that I will be sure to get it and add it later if the server goes down again at animehead@hotmail.com. Thanks -Animehead
Update Nov 30th, 2003.
Update Nov 11th, 2003.
OK the next meeting will be this weekend the 15th of Nov.. We are currently in the plans for the Agent Anime Christmas Party there will be updates as to that in the next week or 2. I hope everyone has been doing well. There is soooo much new anime out there to see that I can't even keep track of it all. This anime club is definitely still dedicated to bringing it all to you. So if it's out then we will get it. I am planning on attending Sugoi Con in Cincinatti on the weekend of the 20th of this month. So that should be cool. If anyone would like to attend you can find more info at www.sugoicon.org/news.html . Well there's not to many updates as of right now (actually there probably is but I'm so busy I don't have time to mention anymore, sorry) so I'll just see you this weekend to give you more. Peace -Animehead
Update Oct 14th, 2003.
Well it's been alittle while since the last update, but I've been really busy lately. First things first, the next club meeting in NOT the 18th as earlier predicted. I've had some important business come up and will have to reschedule for Oct 25th instead. So the next meeting will be on Saturday, Oct 25th. And we may be having it at a new location also. So stay tuned for that.
Also in other news, I've bought a new house and have been moving so that's one reason I've been really busy. The other was that I was in away on a military deployment (within the states so don't get worried) for some very good training. Other then those things not a whole lot going on. I'm still doing the 80's night at the High Point Cafe with DJ Leon Lamont, every Sunday night from 8-12. It's a real good time so you all should come out. 21 and up only please. Anyway I'll more info in a few days or so. Until then keep watchin what anime you can. -Animehead
Update Aug 23rd, 2003.
Well everyone BAD but good news. Apparently the Agent Anime forum was banned for unlawful sharing of certain anime files that had been licensed for release in the US. I was unaware of the nature of this as to seeing that many others were doing it. But I guess that if everyone else was going to jump off a bridge, would I follow? I don't think that I would, but who knows. If I found out that this world was not really real, (as in the Matrix) I guess I might try it and see if I bounce like Neo did. But since this world is real as far as I know. I don't want to spend the rest of my days in a jail cell because of trying to share with the world my love for anime. I do really love anime and the creators and artist behind the making of it, so much that I do believe in them getting what they deserve from doing what they do. I would never want someone stealing my works of art and then making copies of it and just giving it away. Well actually I wouldn't mind as long as it made people happy, but anywho. Just to keep me and the copy write people happy and me out of jail, I have stopped all file sharing of ALL ANIME through streamload. There's no point in messing up something good. What we have at Agent Anime is a good thing. The library list I have is now only just a reference list of different anime titles PERIOD. There will be no more anime requests or anything of the sort. If you want anime you must purchase it from the rightful owners. If it is not available well then wait for it to be. I will be putting more links of places that have good deals on anime from time to time. So check the links page often.
I sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause but it is the right thing and that's what Agent Anime promotes. And I also warn any other groups that may be doing unlawful things, if you are unsure of what you are doing research it more thoroughly and make a good judgment. It's not worth the risk. Well that's about all I have to say about that. The next Agent Anime club meeting will be on the 20th of Sept so we hope to see you there. -Animehead
Remember! No Trading! Just knowledge!

So I hope to see some cool cats come on out to the Hi-Point Sunday Nights. More updates coming soon. - Animehead
Update July 15th, 2003.
Well, ShowMeCon is over and we survived. I'm still trying to shake the post con depression, that was spoken of in the documentary film Fans and Freaks, which was shown at the con on Sat night. The film was very good and spoke of fans in a very positive light. I highly enjoyed it even though a few parts in the middle seemed kind of long and drawn out. But that might have been because of my lack of sleep. Running those anime video rooms is rough, even if you have enough help, it's hard to get away from watching all the anime. I thought that the attendance of the Agent Anime video room over the course of the weekend was great for the amount of people that were at the con. But what made the Anime room and the con great was the people that attended. ShowMeCon was definitely a great con to meet people. I especially enjoyed the conversation I had with artist Alan M Clark on Saturday night. His art is great, check it out if you like twisted/horror/medical art. He really is a good weird guy. Also the con couldn't have been run by a friendlier staff. The staff did everything possible to help our anime video room run the way we wanted it to, they gave us freedom. Which is the best thing an anime video room can have. I thank them and look forward to working with them again soon. All in all I would have to say that the con was a success in many ways, and it can only get better from here. So look forward to ShowMeCon 2 next year, and of course Agent Anime will be there 2. heh heh.
Also, I have just got to thank a few people for helping make this thing happen. Special thanks to all the people that volunteered to give up there time to help run the anime video room at all hours of the day for 3 days. John, Eric, Brian, Cory, Rich, and Josh, thanks a lot guys for making it happen and making it fun. I know you guys might have lost some sleep as I did, but that's ok it makes the con last longer. Also Special thanks to all the people that contributed to the Agent Anime Raffle fundraiser. I hope the winners enjoy their prizes. It was for a really good cause so thanks for helping keep Agent Anime alive and kicking. And last but not least, Thanks to all the people that hung out with us in our anime room and watched anime with us throughout the span of the con. It wouldn't have been a video room if no one was in it. You all are awesome and we hope to see you all soon. Thanks again.
Well that's about all for now that I can think of. So until next time keep watching anime, and keep supporting the cause. -Animehead
Update July 1st, 2003.
Update May 31, 2003.
This just in!!! I've created an Agent Anime message board / community. I've done this so that everyone can post some announcements, rants, raves, questions, streamload anime requests, or just have some general discussions. I just thought it was about time we had some kind of forum for our club. So use it at your leisure. But be nice in there, I don't want to have to ban anyone. And I can see you so if you do something inappropriate I will not hesitate to BAN you. Here's the URL http://pub3.ezboard.com/bagentanime .
Have fun -Animehead
Update May 30, 2003.
Well it's been a few weeks since the last update so I figured I'd better get on the ball and get some info out.
First off, the pertinent info. The June meeting has got to be pushed up a week. I didn't realize it but I have to work that weekend, and I can't get out of it (military reasons). So the June meeting will now be on Saturday the 28th. I hope this doesn't mess anyone up, but it has to be this way sorry.
We had a great time up in Chicago for the Anime Central 2003 convention. It was a lot of fun taking a group there. For those of you that didn't go, we rented a mini van and crammed everyone in it and headed up to the con. We only listened to a little J-Pop on the way heh heh. Also this con was a first for a few of our group members. let me tell ya, they looked to me to be having a very good time. I have pictures to prove it. Anyway all in all it was fun and we'll probably start making plans for next years Anime Central and maybe some other cons in a few months or so. Not to mention ShowMeCon which we will be a part of. Which reminds me....
ShowMeCon is right around the corner. Get those pre-registrations in and if you want to be on staff to help run the video room then e-mail me and let me know. A few others and myself can't do it on our own (it's 3 days of anime folks, not that we haven't sat and watched that much before, but some help would be nice). We are also trying to plan for an Agent Anime Party at the con so if there are any ideas to contribute to that idea then run them by me.
Well I guess that's all the newer info I have right now. I just want to say something real quick to all the Agent Anime Fan Club members, "Thanks for all the support, it's because of you that this club exists. It is your club and it's a great club, thanks to all of you. See you at the next meeting". -Animehead
Update May 7, 2003.
I hope everyone had a good holiday and past couple of weeks.
Well, I have a few new updates for all you Animeheads out there in Animeland. Our Agent Anime caravan up to the convention Anime Central in Chicago will be leaving Friday morning on the 16th. We will have a short meeting at this upcoming club meeting on the 10th to discuss all the details. So if you are going to the convention make sure that you are at the meeting. But if you can't make it to this coming meeting please let me know so that I can make sure your name is on the list and I can give you the details you need. I don't want this to be a GAGGLE so lets Keep It Simple. I'm pretty sure that this will go smoothly.
The Anime Movie night at Time Out has been put on hiatus for awhile. Monday nights don't seem to be a good night for others or myself. So it may pick back up at a later date, and might be on a different day of the week. If anyone has any other suggestions please e-mail me. Also for those that are interested, the Time Out Bar & Grill is going to start having a regular Movie Night on Tuesday nights starting next week. They will be showing regular live action Hollywood type movies from cult classics to newer releases. So be there if you're interested. Well I guess that's all for now. See you soon. -Animehead
Update Apr 17, 2003.
Well it's that time again. Easter Time. Lots of Hard Boiled Eggs and Chocolate Bunnies, not to mention those little marshmallow birds, PEEPS. Blawwgg. I feel sick already, I think I'll stay away from too much candy and just eat some Ham and Potatoes. Anyway I just want to wish everyone a Happy Easter and A Happy One Year Anniversary to the Agent Anime Fan Club. Oh, if you didn't come to our first meeting, yes it was one year ago this April 13th. For those of you that did come, thanks. For those that still come, thanks for sticking with us and helping make this club a success. Arigato
Note. ACen is just around the corner. Anyone that wants to go and still hasn't let me know please do so. We are trying to get the transportation figured out. We need to start getting definite numbers and such together. We enough room space reserved at the hotel to accommodate some more people comfortably. So hurry up and get that info to me. It's going to be a blast.
News. I've decided to make this Anime Club even more different then other clubs by doing away with the set schedule. Every months meetings schedule will be replaced with a list on the schedules page of Anime titles that could be possible's to watch that day. We may not get to watch them all or any of them in fact. But we will try to stick with those few selected titles and watch what everyone votes is the best choice. If you like this idea let me know, remember this is your club too and your feedback and opinions are what matter. So if you know of an anime that you want shown that day, or just want to share something with the rest of the club. Then by all means let us know.
Let's see is there anything else, hmmmm. Oh yeah! Get the ShowMeCon pre-reg's in too if you are going to help run the anime video room there in July. e-mail me if you want to help and I'll get you the con staff price. OK well that's all for now, Have a safe weekend and holiday. -Animehead
Update Mar 25, 2003.
A few changes have occurred. I've changed the dates for the next 2 meetings. Because of Easter and ACen I've had to change April's meeting to the 12th and May's to the 10th. Hopefully this won't screw anyone's schedule up and that everyone will be able to make it out. I've updated the schedule page to reflect this also and added a few more dates to the list.
The T-shirt contest will probably be pushed up a few meetings because some people needed more time. We hope to have it at the May meeting. So try to get some good designs made up. WE NEED A MASCOT!!!! Every club should have a mascot.
The Anime Central Convention in Chicago (ACen) pre-registration is up April 15th, so you must get yours in or postmarked by then or you'll have to pay the full price at the door. To get registered just visit www.acen.org . We have a few rooms reserved so we'll have to start getting everything figured out with that (like who's in what room and such). So if you're thinking of going with us and you haven't told us yet, please do so soon, so we can get you into one of our rooms while there's space.
Also get those Show Me Con pre-registrations in and if you're volunteering to help run the video room let me know. Then you can fill out the con staff registration form so it'll only cost $10 for an all weekend pass. If you need the link to the staff registration form send me an e-mail letting me know you're volunteering and I'll send it to you.
The next Anime Movie Night will be next Monday, March 31st. We'll be showing the classic Battle Angel (or Battle Angel Alita). -Animehead
Well the Anime Movie Night went rather well this time around. More people showed up and others showed interest that haven't previously encountered it. We'll try to get the sound thing figured out before the next one so please don't let that detour you from coming back next time. So thanks for coming out everyone that did.
Update Feb 22, 2003.
A few notes as to what's in store for the up and coming future of Agent Anime.
First off. We will be hosting an Anime Video Room at ShowMeCon this July 11-13 (www.showmecon.com). Yes a 3 day convention with a 24 hour a day non-stop anime viewing room. I am on the con board as the anime representative. Agent Anime will need a few volunteer club members to help run the video room and other Agent Anime related events at the con (but only current club members that feel they would be comfortable working with very expensive equipment at the con should volunteer). Volunteers will only have to pay a $10 con membership and will have all the perks of being con staff, such as access to the con concession room (free food), and free reign over the con (get to go behind the scenes where no one else can freely go). So please contact me at the next club meeting or the next movie night at Time Out to volunteer and to get more details.
Second. I will be trying to get some anime dealers to come to ShowMeCon, and possibly some guests. I am currently in the works on this. Hopefully this will give you locals that can't get to other out of state conventions, a chance to get some of the rare anime merchandise that you've been wanting. I will post more info on this topic as it become available. I'm also not making any promises but I'll see what I can do.
Third. Agent Anime needs to start doing a fund raiser to keep the club alive and kicking. So I had got an idea from a club member to maybe make some really cool AGENT ANIME T-SHIRTS. If anyone would like to see this happen and would like to sport an Agent Anime shirt let me know. Also if you have a design in mind, then we will have a contest and the best Agent Anime logo or mascot will get their design printed on the shirts and receive a shirt or two for free and possibly some other cool stuff. So start sending in those drawings, designs, and such in. Once receiving them we will have a judging at one of the upcoming meetings and the winner will be chosen.
Last but not least. Anime Movie Night is at Time Out Sports Bar and Grill every other Monday night at 8PM. The next one is March 3rd. Please try to make it out if you can. The last attendance was rather pitiful and I would like to see more people come to these events. It gives us a chance to mingle with each other and be more social, while still enjoying a great Anime Movie. So be there or be an Anime Square. That's all for now check back soon. -Animehead
Update Feb 8, 2003.
The First Anime Movie night at Time Out was cool. We watched Katsuhiro Otomo's Memories. I think that everyone really enjoyed it I know that I did. The next one will be on Monday, Feb 17th at 8:00PM. We might be watching Jin-Roh the Wolf Brigade but that could change at any time.
The next Club Meeting will be Saturday the 15th. See you there! -Animehead
Update Jan 20, 2003.
Well I hope the New Year is going well for all so far. Things are starting to kick off well with Agent Anime. We had our first meeting of the new year, and that went well. Thanks everyone for coming.
On another note, for those of you that are 21 years old or over. You are welcome to come to the AGENT ANIME MOVIE NIGHT. At the Time Out Sports Bar. We are going to start the anime movie night on Monday the 3rd of Feb, and then after that every other Monday. If that goes well then we will start having it every Monday night. I'll put some directions up soon, but for those of you that know where I live it's just right around the corner from my house on Meramec. Visit the Projects page for more info. Well that's all for now. See ya soon. -Animehead
Update Jan 5, 2003.
Happy New Year Everyone! This Year should be pretty good to the Agent Anime Club. I hope that Santa-San was good to everybody on Christmas. Did you all get lots of your favorite anime goodies. I sure did. I took a trip the day after Christmas down to Houston Texas and visited 2 Anime Stores. Planet Anime and Animagic. Both stores were really good and I spent lots of money. I bought an awesome EVA long sleeve t-shirt, it's sooo cool. Anyway it was a good trip and a good holiday.
Anywho, this year holds in store a few exciting things for the Agent Anime Fan Club. We are working out the details to take a group to Anime Central in Chicago and hopefully A-Kon in Dallas possibly more conventions too. More details will be posted as they become available. Also the distributor Bandai is still going to be showing their support to anime fan clubs by allowing us to do special screenings of their new titles at our meetings. So get ready for all the fun and excitement with the Agent Anime Fan Club.
On another note. We are always looking to improve our club. One of the things that we are currently trying to accomplish is getting a better meeting place. Of course the Library has a great space for us, but the fact that our meeting time is limited and we can't have food and drink in there kind of hinders our freedom alittle. So we are in negotiations with a few places but if anyone has any ideas please bring them to our attention. So that's all for now and if anyone wants to see any of our past updates just click the link below. -Animehead
