My Biography! (note: a resume will also be posted here in the near future as well as my educational graduations and diplomas, certificates, letters of thanks and recommendations, and military promotions and accommodations.)This is a page that I will be using to describe my personal and professional experiences. I'll also be posting an updated resume soon. Hello my name is Matthew James Smith and I am from St. Louis, Missouri (The Gateway to the West). As a child I was always very creative, I read comic books, played video games, and most of all I loved to draw and create new things. My imagination as a child was a huge influence on who I became and who I am today. When I was 19yrs old, I joined the United State Marine Corps. I became a warrior and a skilled Aircraft Mechanic. Working on airplanes for 5 years was an art form all in it's own. My last year in the Marines and just after I got out, I graduated from Southern Methodist University with a certificate in Networking Technologies, and also with an A + certification. My career in IT was short lived and now I only build custom computers as a hobby to try and keep up to speed with the ever changing computer industry. I soon after joined the Missouri Air National and became a Reserve Survival Equipment, Parachute Rigger, and Life Support Technician. This job led me to a job with The Boeing Company as a Life Support Technician and Parachute Rigger. I am still currently working for The Boeing Company, but I switched jobs not long ago from within the company. I went from being a Life Support Technician to becoming a Flight Inspector (QA) on the new EA-18G (Growler) aircraft. It is essentially an F/A-18F model aircraft but modified to become a G model. It's main purpose is to replace the EA-6B Prowler that has been in service since before Viet Nam. I also am now enrolled in college online at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online. My goal is to obtain a Bachelors of Science Degree in Media Arts and Animation. Along with that I hope to obtain the skills it takes to become a 2D or 3D animator, or possibly even a concept artist.
I will update this info more as I gather information to put here.
